1. Honda HR-V

• Expected Launch: March 2022

• Expected Price: Rs 14.00 lakh

The Honda HR-V is among the much-awaited SUVs in India. As a substitute for the Honda BR-V, the upcoming HR-V will be smaller in dimensions. It will also use the same platform as the Honda City and Jazz.

In terms of feature, the upcoming SUV of Honda is expected to come with upmarket equipment such as full LED headlights, paddle shifters, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 8-way adjustable powered seats, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from that, it will also witness an improved safety kit with multiple airbags, hill start assists, vehicle stability assist, and Honda’s LaneWatch camera.

Performance-wise, the upcoming Honda HR-V is expected to carry forward the same set of 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines as seen in its City sibling. The price of the SUV will be at a premium of Rs 14 lakh. If launched, the new HR-V is expected to rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, the Nissan Kicks, and the upcoming Duster facelift when launched in India.

2. Honda Brio 2020 (Unlikely)

• Expected Launch: June 2021

• Expected Price: Rs 5.00 lakh

The first India-spec Brio was introduced in 2011. After a few years of its launch, the Japanese automaker decided to discontinue the model as its sales volume did not meet the brand’s expectations. While the 2020 Honda Brio was revealed in Indonesia back in 2019, the new Honda hatchback is unlikely to hit the Indian market due to its low sales.

If launched, the next-gen Brio is likely to come in the new Small RS Concept of the automaker. Compared to the discontinued Brio, the all-new Honda hatchback will witness such heavy tweaks in its design. In fact, the upcoming car of Honda will resemble its Amaze sibling in many ways.

Under the hood, the next-gen Brio will be powered by the 90PS/110Nm 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine as seen in the previous model. Transmission-wise, the upcoming Honda hatchback will come equipped with a 5-speed manual as standard. Apart from that, a 7-step CVT, for the first time, will also be offered. If launched, it will enter the market by June 2021 at an estimated price of Rs 5.00 lakh (New Delhi).
